Quality Assurance Analyst
Tower Research Capital LLC, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Quality Assurance Analyst with world-class intelligence and very strong analytic skills to do quality assurance software testing and release management on our trading infrastructure. The firm successfully trades a number of different strategies in a variety of markets. We have an extremely high-performance network that processes a vast amount of financial information in real time. The team here is composed of a talented group of quantitative financial analysts and programmers.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with infrastructure developers
- Creating and executing test plans prior to the release of numerous internal software systems
- Executing build and release management, which includes creating new builds and tagging certified builds with version numbers
- Creating issues in the ticket tracking system and monitoring their completion
- Signing off on releases as they are ready for deployment, which includes passing test plans and notifying system users
- Updating and creating specification documents
- Reporting to Trading Systems Support and Quality Assurance Manager
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst, preferably within the finance industry
- Degree from a top college or university (undergraduate or graduate)
- Knowledge of Linux and knowledge of a scripting language such as Perl, Python, or shell (required)
- Computer programming skills (preferred)
- Basic Linux systems administration skills and knowledge of version control systems such as cvs, svn, or git (a plus)
- Able to build test plans from informal specifications given by developers and the Risk Manager
- Brilliant problem-solving skills
- Organized and detail-oriented (extremely important)
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently and take on many responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
