Helpdesk/Desktop Support Administrator

Tower Research Capital LLC, a quantitative trading and investment strategy firm, is seeking a dedicated Helpdesk/ Desktop Support Administrator for our Tribeca office in downtown New York City. We are looking for a smart, patient individual who can work with Tower’s employees to resolve their varied hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities:

• Resolve hardware, software and service issues
• Install Windows and Linux desktops
• Support Windows desktop
• Create new user accounts
• Repair and upgrade hardware including servers, desktops, laptops, printers and scanners
• Rack and stack servers
• Install, configure and support phones
• Support E-mail administration
• Manage and maintain information on Wiki
• Research materials for orders through vendors

• Like working with people and solving problems
• Enjoy reading magazines like PC Mag, XKCD, Dilbert and Popular Science
• Are organized, can prioritize on the fly and are patient enough to "fight fires" without losing your cool
• Can manage a heavy workload and have the ability to juggle multiple assignments at the same time
• Work well as part of a team that supports production, back-office computing and end user support functions
• Possess strong analytical skills
• Have a solid knowledge of PC hardware and computer internals
• Are familiar with Linux
• Have prior desktop support experience
• Can easily analyze, troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures
