Data Center Technician
Tower Research Capital LLC, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Data Center Technician for the tri-state area. We are looking for a smart, independent individual to support day-to-day operations and resolve hardware issues.
Responsibilities
- Rack and configure Linux, Cisco, and Windows hardware
- Perform server and network troubleshooting
- Work autonomously to resolve hardware, software, and service issues
- Travel to domestic and international data centers to install and repair equipment
- Maintain documentation of all technology
- Keep data centers and shared spaces clean and organized
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat 4 preferred)
- Basic knowledge of Cisco (a plus)
- An associate's degree in technology or previous experience in a data center
- Experience wiring and making patch cables
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States indefinitely
- A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally
Additionally, you must be able to:
- Prioritize on the fly by juggling multiple assignments simultaneously
- Handle a heavy workload and “fight fires” without losing your cool
- Work well independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to data centers worldwide
- Lift 60 pounds
- Keep data centers and shared spaces clean and organized
As this position requires the use of a Zipcar, in order to adhere to and comply with their policies, you must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and you must be at least 21 years of age.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday, 11:00 am – 8:00 pm with occasional night and weekend work
